Professional Statement
Many of Dr. Philips’ clients navigate feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression that have become overwhelming, and impact how they show up at work and in relationships. She works with clients to explore core beliefs about themselves, others, co-creating practical strategies tailored to each client and their life journey.
Dr. Philips is focused on ensuring that her clients see real progress. Her style is interactive, non-judgemental, and positions clients as the experts. As a trauma-informed therapist, Jada is sensitive to the influence of past experiences on present challenges, and works closely with clients to reframe the narrative of their life in a way that increases self-confidence and compassion. She draws from her training in EMDR, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)/Tapping, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and brainspotting strategies in order to expand clients’ internal and external resources for healing, rest, and joy. Self-care is a key component.
Dr. Philips’s first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process. As a telehealth provider, she offers the convenience of remote sessions to help make therapy a core component of your self-care calendar.
Education/Experience
I am a licensed psychologist in multiple states (NY, NJ, DC, DE, and NH), and I have been in the mental health field for about 17 years working in various settings. I love to help others work through their challenges, so they can start to see just how amazing they are and start enjoying their lives again.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Mount Mary University in 2005. During my sophomore year, I joined the Air National Guard, and became a member of the security forces squadron (SFS). I spent 8 years in the military while I continued to pursue my educational journey. After I completed my bachelors in 2005, I quickly ventured out to live in New York, where I sought out more education and training in the mental health field. I completed my first master of arts in forensic psychology at John Jay College in 2008, which then led to me completing a second master of arts in forensic mental health counseling at John Jay College in 2010. Immediately upon completing my second masters, I jumped right into an online doctoral program in clinical psychology through Walden University, and completed in 2015.
I have a wide range of experience which include assessments, evaluations, and treatments for trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, healthy living, and loss. My approach will be matched to each individual as we partner to find a plan that will help you cope, thrive, and become who you want to be. My treatment approach is centered on the person as a whole. I believe in treatment that individualizes a person’s experience and incorporates clinical and holistic lifestyle choices to make every person feel whole again. In an ever changing world, I want to partner with my client’s to see them overcome, heal, and thrive. This is a safe space.
