Dr. Jessica Klement provides video-based (virtual) therapy to young adults and teens. She also works individually with caregivers in how to respond to their child and create a supportive environment given the child’s specific needs and goals. Dr. Klement is uniquely trained in health psychology which takes a holistic approach to understand the current problem, including biological, psychological, and social factors. Her approach is collaborative and individualized, combining cognitive behavioral therapy with other therapies shown to be effective for anxiety, stress, and other concerns. Dr. Klement has been working in this field and seeing patients for 8 years. She is credentialed as a Health Service Psychologist with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. She earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Houston and completed specialized training programs in health psychology at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA and Children’s Health in Dallas, TX. She has also worked in other settings such as a psychiatric hospital and an outpatient therapy clinic for adults, couples, and children. Like most specialists, Dr. Klement started her career with a broad background and is prepared to identify most concerns.

In addition to clinical work, Dr. Klement works as a clinical supervisor for psychology trainees and is a faculty member at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several academic journals and has taught undergraduate psychology courses. Being both a consumer and a contributor to research keeps her at the forefront of treatments that work.
