Professional Statement

You may feel that emotions are leading your life rather than you being the executor of your emotions. Together we will gradually face feelings that seem too difficult to experience with the goal of processing them and arriving at new healthier experiences. Maybe you struggle with a sense of purpose. In our sessions, we can explore how loss, isolation, changes, and uncertainty have impacted you and together we can instill new meaning into your day-to-day experiences. You may have rejected parts of yourself and collaboratively we can work on understanding and reclaiming that identity.

My approach to therapy centers on evidenced-based practice embedded in a strength-based multicultural framework. As a Clinical Psychologist, I strive to create a sense of “we-ness” by making clients feel “heard and seen” for who they are. My goal is to hold equitable space for you, step into difficult paths with you, and emerge stronger and more empowered.

I have over 10 years of experience as a Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a Staff Psychologist at the Veterans Affairs and work with depression, anxiety, trauma (i.e., combat, childhood, race-based, sexual, and military sexual trauma), geropsychology, severe mental illness, and substance use disorders. I would be honored to work with you.
