Professional Statement

Dr. Levine is one of only a very small number of BOARD-CERTIFIED Clinical Psychologists (only about 5% of all clinical psychologists in the United States hold Board Certification). It is quite unlikely that you would agree to have surgery with a non-board certified physician. Therefore, BEFORE selecting a psychologist, it might be wise to find out the value of selecting ONLY a Board-Certified Clinical Psychologist by checking this link:

https://www.abpp.org/Applicant-Information/Specialty-Boards/Clinical-Psychology.aspx

Prior to moving to LA in 2012, Dr. Levine had previously been the Chief Psychologist at Mt Sinai South Nassau Medical Center in New York and was a Clinical Psychologist for the hit TV series "Hoarders" on the A&E Television Network. Shortly after arriving in California, he began serving as a Clinical Psychologist at the UCLA School of Medicine & opened a private practice in Beverly Hills and at Cedars-Sinai Medical Tower. Beyond his office in Beverly Hills, Dr. Levine offers TELEHEALTH (secure internet-based video-chat) and telephone sessions for patients in CA, HI, FL and NY. With more than 30 years experience, Dr. Levine has the expertise, training and sensitivity to help you with your personal issues and concerns. He is also serious about your privacy, so when you call, he alone will answer the phone. You will never be required to speak with a secretary, receptionist, answering service or other stranger about your personal information.

Education/Experience

Following a Ph.D. degree (not a Psy.D.) at Hofstra University in New York (an American Psychological Association Accredited Graduate Program) he then completed a 2-year Post Doctoral Fellowship in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) at the prestigious Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He has also served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Behavior Therapy & Experimental Psychiatry and has published scores of scientific papers in peer-reviewed professional journals.

It should be noted that most States, including the State of California, do NOT require graduation from an APA Accredited Doctoral program, do NOT require that a psychologist be Board-Certified and do NOT require Post-Graduate Fellowship Training in order to issue a license as a Psychologist. Since Dr. Levine is licensed as a Psychologist in California, New York, Florida and Hawaii, he can see patients from any of these States via Telehealth.

Although Dr. Levine is not participating in any insurance plans, he will supply you with completed medical insurance claim forms. If you have a PPO-type plan (allows you to see doctors out-of-network), you simply mail the forms in to your company for direct reimbursement from your plan for a portion of the fee (exact amount depends on your specific plan).
