I have had extensive experience working with people who are suffering from mood and personality disorders, substance dependence/addiction, dysfunctional relationships, job dissatisfaction, and challenges associated with aging. I also specialize in treating the emotional and behavioral components of coping with debilitating accidents, work injuries and serious medical conditions such as chronic pain, cancer and multiple sclerosis as well as everyday health issues, sleep disturbances and life stress. Being able to build therapist-client rapport based on genuine acceptance and to utilize a compassionate driven, interpersonal therapeutic approach are some of the key strategies I have found to be instrumental in helping individuals and couples overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles in order to achieve meaningful change in their lives and in their relationships.

I obtained my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Miami and completed internship training in behavioral medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. During my 30 years of clinical practice, I have collaborated with allied health professionals in a variety of multidisciplinary medical settings. In my personal life, I am a music and sports enthusiast who enjoys international travel, community engagement and relaxing with my significant other and our two rescue cats.
