You are the most important person in this relationship, and you set the goal(s) of treatment. We will work together on reaching your goal(s). As therapist, I will encourage you to identify your strengths, examine areas of your life needing growth and state ways to integrate the two toward achieving the goal(s) you have selected.
Whether you are seeking help for depression or anxiety, substance abuse concerns or relationship issues, therapy can be helpful. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), enhanced by some of the tools and techniques embedded in mindfulness because this approach to therapy is robust and evidence-based to be effective in reducing symptoms and improving the quality of life each of us wants and deserves.
I have been licensed for the independent practice of psychology in Washington, DC and the state of Maryland for more than 35 years.
I have directed residential programs for adolescents and adults seeking treatment for co-occurring disorders including substance abuse and dependency, chronic mental illness and HIV+.
I have been engaged in the independent practice of psychology since 1986. Since 2017, I have exclusively provided telemental health using a HIPAA compliant platform.
