Professional Statement
I believe the relationship between therapist and client is unique and extremely special. When you decided to seek therapy to address your individual concern, I know you thought long and hard about this decision. I am so happy you chose to look at my statement.
You are the most important person in this relationship, and you set the goal(s) of treatment. We will work together on reaching your goal(s). As therapist, I will encourage you to identify your strengths, examine areas of your life needing growth and state ways to integrate the two toward achieving the goal(s) you have selected.
Whether you are seeking help for depression or anxiety, substance abuse concerns or relationship issues, therapy can be helpful. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), enhanced by some of the tools and techniques embedded in mindfulness because this approach to therapy is robust and evidence-based to be effective in reducing symptoms and improving the quality of life each of us wants and deserves.
