Professional Statement
I've been fortunate to work with diverse patient populations across various settings including a county hospital, college counseling clinic, community mental health center and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare system. Throughout my clinical experiences, I developed a primary passion for health psychology. Specifically, I help people quit smoking, improve sleep, manage weight, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I also have a passion for helping people with anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, adjustment, school/work stress and grief.
For those considering Bariatric Surgery, I offer Presurgical Psychological Screening, also known as a Mental Health Readiness Evaluation. This service involves a structured clinical interview as well as psychological testing.
Telepsychology has transformed my ability to reach people, particularly those who may not ordinarily be able to access care. Having practiced telepsychology for several years I have witnessed its utility and positive impact on peoples’ lives and I am grateful to be able to utilize technology in this way as a psychologist.

***NOTE***
I will be on leave 5/11/22 - 6/3/22 and I will not be providing services during this time. Sessions will resume upon my return. If you'd like to speak with a psychologist sooner, please visit Session Sync to find another provider in your state: https://sessionsync.com/providers

Education/Experience
I am trained in various styles of therapy and treatment methods including evidence-based practices for insomnia, depression, post traumatic stress disorder and chronic disease self-management. These include Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Depression (CBT-D), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE). While I primarily use a cognitive behavioral approach to treatment, I find great utility in examining early models and influential factors. Ultimately I believe in a strength-based approach to care and fostering a collaborative working relationship in therapy.
