Professional Statement

Are you ready to take things to the next level? Please don't suffer alone any longer.

I welcome you to my judgement-free zone for an open and gentle conversation about the things that trouble you.

Together we will begin a deep process of transformation that takes you beyond suffering and symptoms to a place of meaning, depth, feeling and connection.

I will teach you a new way to talk about thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, and a new way to access the power of imagination to ignite healing.

Whether you are depressed, anxious, struggling with eating or relationship conflict., or you just want to improve your parenting, there is a journey of transformation awaiting you here.

Education/Experience

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, who works with two different kinds of clients- I have specific training that allows me to help both:

1) I am passionate about working with ADULTS in their 20's and 30's who are trying to launch or establish new careers and romantic relationships, and are feeling alone, lost, and as though they are the only ones struggling. Through my affiliation with the NYU Counseling Services I worked with many undergraduate and graduate students suffering from eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and relationship conflict. I draw on three main modalities to help you meet your goals: AEDP, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and DBT all within what I'd call a Jungian psychodynamic frame. That's a mouthful, I know, but what does that mean?!! I blend several tools to orchestrate a whole new experience of talking about your problems where you realize you are no longer alone with them. Once you realize that we are in this together, I guide you compassionately through difficult feelings that you had previously avoided. We will appreciate how you came up with strategies to avoid certain emotions, and we will begin to employ new ones. Finally, I give you a whole new way to understand how to bypass anxiety and defenses to get in touch with your authentic self. I can't wait to teach you more about it and help you get closer to leading a meaningful, satisfying life.

2) I work with PARENTS who feel overwhelmed with the challenges of parenting, and want to improve their relationships with their children. Parenting may have restimulated old childhood wounds, brought on a depressive episode, or increased anxiety. There is no reason to continue suffering alone. As a mom and a clinical psychologist, I have made it my mission to apply my knowledge and skill set to improving my own and others' parenting experience. I draw on my parent coaching training with the Hand in Hand Parenting organization to help parents create safety, fun, and healing in their relationships. When you come into my office, you are coming into a judgement free zone, where I will listen to you with compassion to understand you, and your family's story. Then we will come up with a plan that involves 1) giving you concrete tools to try out at home with your children, and 2) giving you a taste of what it's like to be fully emotional supported to heal past childhood hurts so that you can turn around and offer the same level of care and connection to your own children.
