Professional Statement

I am Dr. Alicia Williams, a licensed psychologist (CT, DE, NJ, and PA) and a Certified Telehealth Provider (FL and VT), with over 30 years of providing psychotherapy services to people seeking support for management of mental health challenges. I am the Founder and Director of Paths to Healing, LLC, a private practice created to offer psychotherapy and consultation encouraging healing for adults facing psychological health and wellness challenges. Specifically, Paths to Healing, LLC provides comprehensive and personalized treatment services for women, esp. those of color and those who identify as lesbian, who have emotional and psychological wounds stemming from experiences of childhood sexual abuse, and other forms of sexual trauma, as well as from societal challenges. In addition, people who are struggling with mood disorders also will find the space and support at Paths to Healing, LLC to improve their self-care, and possibly, reduce the experience of symptoms.

I recognize that no two people are the same, and I will work with you to resolve your specific concerns. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, flashbacks, insomnia, or other challenging psychological experiences, I will help you move forward. Using your feedback to guide our work, we will develop a plan for your psychological well-being. You will learn to recognize underlying problems and patterns, fully realize your strengths, and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to assist you in finding your path to healing.

Finally, I:
Use a sexual abuse/trauma survivors-informed approach to healing and recovery.
Am experienced in working with people who identify as lesbian/gay.
Have provided professional support to many people experiencing symptoms of mood disorders.
Consider cultural influences in both assessment and treatment decisions.
