Professional Statement
Hi! My Name is Sandra Winans, also known as, "The Casual Clinician".
I am a licensed psychologist and I am glad you are here. I have worked with teens and young adults with a wide range of concerns including academic issues, anxiety, family conflicts, social issues, self-esteem concerns, and parenting issues.
My approach to therapy is casual. Basically, I use a relaxed, cognitive-behavioral approach in therapy, which focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. I also incorporate a sense of humor to create a comfortable and non-threatening environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. This approach aims to empower clients to make positive changes in their lives while also developing a greater understanding of themselves
Basically, I'm here to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now, and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment. Whether you are seeking a change for a more confident and joyful life or just need a non-judgmental ear to listen, I am here to support and encourage you!
