My approach is mainly psychodynamic. Initially we will focus on helping you cope in healthier ways, and once you are feeling more empowered, we then explore the underlying components of your symptoms in order to achieve long-lasting healing.
Because a goodness of fit is so important for your therapy to be a successful experience, I offer and require a 15-minute free phone consultation before we make an appointment. Please send me a message if you are interested in scheduling an appointment so that we can schedule a free 15-minute consultation first. I sincerely look forward to hearing from you.
I have earned PhD, which is the highest level of education that a person can earn in the field of Psychology. A PhD means that in addition to therapeutic work, I am also consumer and producer of scientific research. As a psychologist and a scientist, I ensure that the work we do in therapy is based on solid, scientifically based research. I am always up to date on the latest trends that scientific research supports, as well as clinically trained thoroughly in the therapeutic methods I use. I completed my doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon in 2008.
I am also Board Certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Board certification means specialty beyond a doctoral level of education.
